Big Sandy, Mt

Well, as I expected today really was quite good.  So much seems to happen in a day that it is always hard to put it into a few words, especially when you’re tired and just want to go to bed.  However, you can’t get to day 40 without day 3.

It is interesting when you go a different direction than the people around you how they think about you differently and give you stares.  The very simple reality of this that I’m facing is just in the way I’m eating.  I’m not eating what everyone else is, so I am looked at differently.

Expectations really are a group decision, a bunch of like-minded people can all agree on what is expected of others, without even saying a word.  Then when someone comes around who goes about things in a way that they consider unexpected, it is agreed upon that, that is weird.  So, I am currently being weird at work, which weirdness is a fairly normal concept for me, since I am often the “weird” one in many situations.

Anyway, today really did go very smoothly, I stuck with my prescribed meal plan as well as having a very grand devotional time.  Day 3 in the purpose driven life got talking about the idea of what is the driving force in your life?  Is it fear, a need to acquire money, wanting to please people, or is Jesus the one driving your life.  It was a very thought provoking thing.  One part that really got me was where it talked about when you know your purpose, you live a much more focused life.  Only paying attention to the things that really matter to you.  So often we can fill up our schedules and make ourselves very busy, doing a lot of things, but the reality is that we often do that because we don’t really know our purpose.  When you do know your purpose you focus on the things that really contribute to that purpose.

Overall today was a very good day, tomorrow is my last day of work for the week, so that wil be really nice when that’s over.  Not only did my dieting and such go well, but I actually got into a good discussion with one of the kitchen employees where I was able to share with her some stories that really emphasized the gospel.  Which was great, since I could tell the stories really made her ponder some things.

Anyway, today was a success and tomorrow will be even better.

Thanks for reading!

God bless you!

Jesus loves you!
